The very beginning
With over 34 years of experience, Medina started as a small family business specializing in the production of ice cream. Today we are a leading brand known for the high quality and authentic taste of our products. From the fresh milk to the final touch – everything is created with attention to detail and a passion for sweet delights. For over 34 years, we have been creating ice cream and desserts with care and passion. We started as a small family business and have become a symbol of quality and taste.
Medina Ltd. began its development in 1990 as a family business focused on the production of ice cream. Initially, with just three employees and one machine, only 300 liters of raw cow's milk were processed daily.
With the expansion of the enterprise, supplies and distribution are no longer limited to the city. Active sales are launched in several neighboring cities and regions, which leads to stable market growth.
Today, Medina is an established manufacturer, distributing its products throughout Bulgaria and several neighboring countries. In 1998, the company expanded its production, increased its warehouse base and added new facilities. Thus, Medina transformed into a high-tech factory, meeting European standards for the food industry.
Currently, Medina EOOD has a team of over 40 specialists, and the production capacity reaches 14,000 ice creams per hour. Uncompromising quality and strict hygiene standards are among the company's main priorities. The production process is carried out in accordance with the certified management systems ISO 22000 (certificate from 2009) and IFS (certificate for ice cream products from 2021).

Europroject
Project name: Purchase of new technological equipment for the production of ice cream products in an existing dairy processing plant owned by "Medina" EOOD in the town of Madan, Smolyan region
Beneficiary: "MEDINA" Ltd.
Measure: Sub-measure 4.2 "Investments in processing/marketing of agricultural products" from measure 4 "Investments in tangible assets" from the Rural Development Programme for the period 2014-2020.
Project objective: The aim of the investment project is to increase the competitiveness of "Medina" EOOD, through investments in technological renewal for modernization and automation of the main production facilities, including contributing to the process of digital economic recovery, in accordance with agroecology and climate goals.
Project results: The implementation of the project activities has achieved the following results:
1. Achieving better utilization of production factors by putting into operation an automated ice cream production line
2. Improving food quality and safety, as well as automating work processes, through investment in an innovative for the applicant production line for "Mochi" with a filling of dairy ice cream made from cow's milk;
3. Promoting social inclusion and poverty reduction in the region by providing sustainable jobs;
4. Minimizing manual operations in the production of ice cream products - ice cream in cans/cups, ice cream cakes and ice cream rolls, bars and candies;
5. Achieving the possibility of more efficient use of resources (labor, energy, raw materials, etc.), higher quality of finished products and reduction of the cost of production per unit, by ensuring fully automated processing of raw milk and production of high-quality ice cream products;
6. Achieving independence in the logistics and transport of finished products through investment in a heavy-duty refrigerated truck;
7. Sustainable and digital economic recovery of the company.
